Mandy

Like a white cat
hidden
behind a blade of grass,
waiting
to make a surprise attack.
One may need
more than
strategy
and
common sense.

Come and See What I See

Come and see what I see
The beauty of this town
The quaintness of its trees
It's lovely homes and churches
As you walk along the morning’s breeze
Let me take you on a painted tour
Of all this and more, it'll never be a chore
I might be by to see you
With a kindly “How you do”
As I try to capture the scenic view
You’ll see me quietly standing on the street side
With my trusted easel and paints
Or pass me by as you walk to the stores of antiques
Where the stregnth of these buildings are like old Saints
Their charms are powerful, with a touch of meek
It’s okay if you take a gander
Just a smile will do
I’m always interested in ones point of view
If my paintings move you
I’ll appreciate that even more
For one of life’s great pleasures
Is to paint what is adored
I have so little time
There’s only so much light during the day
I’ll only be here a few more hours
Then I must be on my way
For every ray has it’s prisms
Before it turns to gray
But, don’t worry
I’ll be back to paint another day.

Drift

What maddening hearts are these
To the one that never leaves
Drift my mind, I can not see
In the dark, behind my sleave
Hummering sounds that will not die
Only cast a woodens lyre

To the sounds of desire
What will that do for you
Will that be, will that be
Never letting go, only you that knows
How's this life's going to go
Never letting go, never letting go
Always having a hold, never to unfold
Memories of old have turned to gold.

No
Bluff

Out in about, wondering around
Under blue skies
Cotton clouds abound
Windy, breezy, sunny days a sailing through
All I can think of is you
How happy I would be
If you would only care for me
One day maybe you'll see
It was meant to be
For now to be with you is enough
Unless you want to call my bluff.

Because of Someone
 ~  Deb

Oh, Silly Me

Oh, silly, silly me.
I said, "I love thee."
To a man who says,
"So you say."
Oh, silly, silly me . . .

Pretty One

Am I your pretty one
Can I make you smile
What will you bring me
To make it all worthwhile
Will you dare show me
How you care
Maybe with some diamonds
And pearls to wear
But. . . if you are true, roses will do.

Hearts of Palm

Pick me hearts of palm
That's all I have left to play
Pick me hearts of palm
For the rest of my days
Pick me hearts of palm
Will love go my way
Pick me hearts of palm
I'm just made that way
Pick me hearts of palm
Never will I leave behind
Pick me hearts of palm
When love is so blind
Pick me hearts of palm
My heart to be picked that way
Pick me hearts of palm
I'm wandering away.

When I Think of You

When I think of you
Wildly foolish, maybe
Insouciant mood, maybe
Insipidness . . . never.

If . . .

If I could capture your heart
If I could amuse you
Into looking my way
Don't you think I would.

Always

The sun kisses the moon goodnight,
While the moon and stars are still bright.
"Have a lovely day dear.
I'll be waiting for you at the end of daylight."
